Grand Peaks Medical and Dental is hiring a General Practice Dentist.

Since 2007, Grand Peaks has been committed to providing a Dental Home to patients, where medical, dental, behavioral health services and clinical pharmacists work together and coordinate efforts in a team based system of care. With two locations in St. Anthony and Rexburg, Idaho our patient populations come from all over Eastern Idaho to receive the high standard of care that is a staple to our organization.  We strive to improve the quality of our patient's lives who would otherwise have limited access to health care. Job Duties:

Candidate will work within our dental clinics, under the direction of the Dental Director, performing outpatient clinical tasks and functions, to include but not limited to:

  1. Obtain dental history and perform physical examinations.
  2. Diagnose and direct counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.
  3. Prescribe medication in accordance with Idaho statute, professional practice guidelines and federal laws as needed by treatment.
  4. Perform minor dental procedures including but not limited to: fillings, extractions, root canals, crown build up, crown prep and crown seating, etc.
  5. Ensure the safe administration of anesthetics.
  6. Arrange referral for patients requiring services not offered at Grand Peaks.
  7. Review incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) sign, date and follow-up in a timely manner.
  8. Participate in staff outreach and off-site health care programs in the Grand Peaks service area as assigned by the Dental Director.
  9. Comply with the Grand Peaks Infection Control plan which includes personally utilizing universal precautions. Ensure compliance by support staff.
  10. Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other meetings.
  11. Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
  12. Assist in outside dental public relations functions.
  13. Adhere to UDS productivity standards and meet at least the minimum requirement.
  14. Take after hours call as scheduled.
  15. Serve on advisory committees as designated.
  16. Participate in company sponsored events.
  17. Able to work in a multidiscipline team environment and coordinate care across various in-house specialties.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises students in training at clinic locations as assigned by the Dental Director.

Qualifications:

  1. Current Idaho State Dental License
  2. Current D.E.A. Certificate
  3. Insurability (malpractice)
  4. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
  5. ACLS or Advanced Life Support within 12 months of employment, if appropriate
  6. Must be eligible to participate with CMS programs
