    Hi everyone, 

    ICHCA's partners at Idaho State University are looking for temporary online instructors to teach Community Health Worker training courses. One instructor with clinical and/or public health experience will co-teach with an instructor with community health work experience. Each instructor will co-teach at least one semester-long community health worker training course over the next three years. The purpose of the course is to train community health workers throughout Idaho as part of Idaho State University's Community Health Worker Training grant with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).     Job responsibilities: During the semester in which they are selected to teach, instructors will teach a hybrid course that includes three live-online classes held one evening (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) from 6:30-9:30 PM and 10 weeks of asynchronous training. Each week will involve approximately 5 hours of work, including course preparation time, leading weekly class sessions, and providing feedback to students.

    Selected instructors must be available to travel to a mandatory instructor and curriculum training at Idaho State University's Meridian campus from January 17-19th, 2023. Compensation for attending the training and travel expenses will be paid for those coming from outside the Treasure Valley. Topics to be covered in the instructor training and course curriculum include:
         • Key concepts in public health
         • Individual and community outreach
         • Organization, time management, and documentation
         • Individual and community assessment
         • Advocacy and community capacity building
         • Care coordination and systems navigation
         • Navigating health insurance
         • Education to promote healthy behavior change
         • Topic-specific information on screening and care of common chronic diseases
