Free Mentorship Training Beginning January 15

ICHCA is looking for participants for our free, virtual, January Mentorship Training. This training is comprehensive and open to anyone looking to build their mentoring, leadership and/or supervisory skills. At least three participants per interactive training session will make for a robust learning experience and provides peer collaboration.

The training originated from Health Career Advancement Program (H-CAP) and is geared toward those supervisors and preceptors overseeing apprentices, but is suitable for anyone in a leadership role.This training will be facilitated by ICHCA staff and is broken into eight 2-hour sessions. Register for one or all 2-hour sessions, you pick and choose!

Training dates (register by January 12):

  • Monday, January 15, 8:30-12:30 MST. Session 1: Introduction to registered apprenticeship and mentorship (2 hours); Roles and responsibilities of mentors, apprentices and supervisors (2 hours)
  • Tuesday, January 16, 8:30-12:30 MST. Session 2: Adult learning (2 hours); Assessment for a competency model of apprenticeship, including assessment tools (2 hours)
  • Thursday, January 18, 8:30-12:30 MST. Session 3: Cultural competence and communication (2 hours); Elements of communication (2 hours)
  • Friday, January 19, 8:30-12:30 MST. Session 4: Communication tools and feedback (2 hours); Problem solving and next steps (2 hours)

A workbook will be provided before the training that will be used during each session and will act as a reference guide post-training.
