Webinar Description:
Motivational interviewing (MI) is a counseling technique that is patient-centered and collaborative. It can be effective in addressing vaccine hesitancy. Some parents who are hesitant about vaccines may experience conflicting emotions and uncertainty about whether or not to have their children immunized. MI can help individuals explore and resolve their ambivalence towards behaviors that prevent change. It can also promote and increase patient motivation towards positive behavioral change and develop personalized plans for behavior change. Attendees of this program will learn important MI skills and strategies to navigate conversations with parents and caregivers about vaccine hesitancy.
Learning Objectives:
1. The webinar will review the issues that drive vaccine hesitancy among parents.
2. Motivational interviewing (MI) techniques can be helpful with improving vaccination acceptance.
