- Implement reminders and recall systems (e.g., chart and electronic health record reminders) that prompt the practice to notify patients to schedule a visit for recommended or missed vaccines.
- Use systems such as telephone calls, text messages, messages in secured patient portals, letters, or postcards to remind patients of scheduled vaccinations.
- Routinely assess patient immunization status to increase vaccination rates at all age levels. Use every patient visit type as an opportunity to vaccinate.
- Provide expanded clinic hours or express services for vaccination scheduling.
