  • 1.  Interpretation Services Question

    Hi everyone,

We got a question in the Cube and I wanted to post it here to see if any of you have information and advice. Thanks!

I am curious to what extent your clinics go to provide certain interpretation services for patients. We currently offer a language line providing language interpretation; but what about sign language? Do you pay for on-site ASL interpreter? If so, do you help cover the cost of this service and to what extent or does the patient cover the cost? Does the patient bring an interpreter with them? I guess either way, who pays for this? Any information or insight you are willing to provide would be appreciated.

AMN Healthcare is our language service and utilizes iPads and has instant translation via video chat with certified translators, they have ASL as an option.  This is a service we pay for monthly.
