Preventing Provider Burnout and Increasing Resiliency

05-01-2017 12:09 PM

The Idaho Primary Care Association has partnered with the California Primary Care Association to provide this training resource to Idaho community health centers.

Resiliency is the power or ability to rebound or return to the original state after being bent, compressed, or stretched. Many physicians are stretched by the external pressures of medicine including growing patient panels, higher productivity requirements, and the time demands of the electronic medical record. This 60-minute presentation focuses on the challenges that make healthcare providers vulnerable to burnout and on the use of specific skills such as mindfulness, self-monitoring, and appreciative inquiry that have been shown to enhance physician well-being. This presentation will provide tools and techniques to develop internal skills, habits, and attitudes that promote resilience and build community among clinicians and other members of your health care team.
